Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of a modified mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)in clinical skills training and assessment of outpatient nurses.Methods From October 2023 to October 2024,a total of fifty five outpatient nurses were selected from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of South China University of Technology received training using the modified Mini-CEX approach.Each outpatient nurse was assessed four rounds.The pass rates,specific performance scores,and the nurses'satisfaction with the training were compared.Results The scores of nurses in each assessment were significantly improved,scores of medical history inquiry,physical examination,nursing operations,humanistic care,health and education consultation,organizational efficiency,and overall performance increased progressively from the first to the fourth assessment(P<0.05).No statistical difference in the standard attainment rates in the first three assessments.The fourth assessment of humanistic care,physical examination,nursing operation,health education consultation,organizational effectiveness achieved higher standards than the first three assessments(P<0.05),while no significant differences were found in pass rates for medical history inquiry and overall performance(P>0.05).The satisfaction scores from both students and teachers improved steadily,with the highest satisfaction reported in the fourth round(P<0.05).Conclusions The modified Mini-CEX demonstrates significant effectiveness in enhancing clinical skills training and assessment of outpatient nurses,improving clinical skills of outpatient nurses,the passing rate of assessment and the satisfaction of students and teachers with the assessment results.关键词
