Abstract

[Objective]The current status in soil comprehensive fertility of pitaya orchards in Luodian County,Guizhou Province was investigated to provide the theoretical support for scientific fertilization and promotion of yield and quality of pitaya in local area.[Method]The pH,organic matter,total potassium,total nitrogen,total phosphorus,available potassium,available nitrogen and available phosphorus of 45 surface soil samples(0-20 cm)collected from pitaya orchards at<450 m(Class A),450-550 m(Class B)and>550 m(Class C)were analyzed by membership function analysis,correlation analysis,and soil fertility index method to analyze the soil fertility grade and soil nutrient status of pitaya orchards at three different altitudes in Luodian County.[Result]The soil pH showed an increasing first and then declining trend with increase of altitude.The soil pH of Class A and Class B was 6.08 and 6.57,which was suitable for planting pitaya.But the soil pH of Class C was 4.51 with strongly acidic,which was extremely lower than the suitable pH(6.0-7.5)range for planting pitaya.The average content of soil organic matter,total nitrogen and available nitrogen showed declining trend with increase of altitude.The average content of total potassium and available potassium showed an increasing trend with increase of altitude.The total potassium content in Class A was lower than Class B and Class C significantly,which indicated there was a potential risk of potassium deficiency for planting pitaya.[Conclusion]The soil comprehensive fertility of pitaya orchards at different altitudes in Luodian County is at medium level and the membership degree of total potassium is 0.19-0.38.The soil potassium content is the major factor influencing soil fertility in Luodian County.
