Abstract

To clarify the effects of mechanical rolling on chlorophyll content,dry matter translocation,and yield of winter wheat,a randomized block experiment was conducted using the cultivar Jimai22 under three treatments:no rolling(A0),roll-ing before winter(A1),and rolling before winter+at the reviving stage(A2).The study assessed flag leaf chlorophyll content,dry matter accumulation and translocation,and yield components.The results showed that compared with A0,A1 significantly increased spike number per unit area and grains per spike,while additional rolling(A2)synergistically improved 1000-grain rate to spikes at flowering and maturity stages,and promoted translocation amount and rate of pre-anthesis stored dry matter weight.Rolling enhanced post-anthesis chlorophyll content in flag leaves,increased dry matter accumulation and allocation from vegetative organs to grains.Additionally,it improved post-anthesis dry matter accumulation and its contribution to grain yield,while reducing dry matter allocation to stems and leaves at maturity,resulting in a higher harvest index and ultimately greater yield.Compared with A0,A1 and A2 increased grain yield by 17.03%and 24.79%,respectively.Therefore,rolling be-fore winter+at the reviving stage(A2)is recommended as the optimal practice for winter wheat production.
