摘要

Abstract

In order to enhance the diversity and stability of plant communities in desert areas,grazing livestock is a potential vector for plant seed transmission in desert areas.After grazing livestock feed on Shrub fruits,shrub seeds are digested by livestock,spread to other places through vomiting or fecal excretion,and successfully stay away from the plant mother.The natural seeds of Nitraria tangutica were collected and digested by cattle and sheep.The effects of digestion of cattle and sheep on water absorption,germination and vitality of N.tangutica seeds were compared.The results showed that the chewing and rumination of sheep significantly increased water absorption(2 h,10 h,12 h),water absorption speed(2 h),and germination rate of N.tangutica seeds,but had no significant effect on germination rate and viability.The chewing,rumination and digestion of cattle had no significant effect on water absorption of seed and germination,and significantly reduced seed viability.
