Abstract

A systematic sampling and analytical program was conducted on associated brines in the Jiyang Depression to characterize the distribution patterns of potassium(K)and lithium(Li)elements.Integrating these distribution patterns with provenance analyses and geological processes during brine evolution,the principal controlling factors of K-Li mineralization were elucidated,and prospective mineralization zones were delineated.Results indicate that in the Jiyang Sag,K and Li concentrations exhibit a positive correla-tion with increasing formation burial depth vertically.Planar distribution analyses reveal that high K-Li en-richment zones are predominantly localized in the Dongying Sag.Notably,Li contents in most sampled wells within the Dongying Sag meet the cutoff grade criteria for standalone mining,while K contents in select wells satisfy the boundary grades for comprehensive utilization.Spatial distribution patterns show that K and Li el-ements are concentrated in the northern sag belt-adjacent deep major fault zones,forming distinct annular distribution trends.The accumulation and enrichment of potassium and lithium in the associated brines of oil and gas in the area are jointly controlled by the scope of the Archean granitic metamorphic rock denudation and leaching area rich in potassium and lithium elements,the sag belt,sedimentary facies,formation water salinity,and deep major fault activities.It is predicted that the Sha 4 member near the Minfeng Sag,Lijin Sag,and Binnan Fault and Tuoshengyong Fault Zone are favorable areas for potassium-lithium rich brines.
