Ouyang Xiaoyong's Experience in Treating Eczema Based on the"Injury by Dampness"Theory
摘要
Abstract
The"injury by dampness"theory originates from Plain Questions:The Great Treatise on Yin and Yang Correspondence.Lei Feng,a renowned scholar of warm disease theory in the Qing Dynasty,expanded this concept in his work Treatise on Seasonal Diseases:Autumn Injury by Dampness,proposing the"six methods for treating dampness":"promoting sweating to disperse dampness,""using wind-dispelling drugs to overcome dampness,""purging to eliminate dampness,""warming meridians to dissipate cold-dampness,""strengthening the spleen and drying dampness,"and"promoting diuresis to drain dampness."These methods extend the warm dis-ease theory's approach of"diffusing the upper,regulating the middle,and draining the lower"to resolve dampness across the three ener-gizer.Eczema has complex pathogenesis,with dampness as the core pathogenic factor.Professor Ouyang Xiaoyong focuses on the mecha-nism of"dampness as the root of eczema"and applies the"six methods for treating dampness"to eliminate eczema.By tailoring thera-pies to patients' specific conditions-harmonizing qi,blood,yin,and yang-he has achieved satisfactory clinical outcomes.For eczema caused by"dampness in the exterior,"diaphoretic drugs are preferred.When superficial dampness combines with wind or heat,leading to the entanglement of wind,dampness,and heat in the skin,acrid and aromatic wind-dispelling drugs can be used to release pathogens through the pores.If dietary irregularities disrupt water-dampness metabolism,causing dampness-heat accumulation in the intestines and skin,purgative methods are appropriate.For patients with constitutional weakness or excessive consumption of cold food,leading to cold-dampness stagnation,blood stasis,and disharmony of qi and blood flow,warm-natured drugs should be employed to warm the meridians and dispel cold.When spleen impairment due to dampness from cold food or innate sensitivity results in water-dampness stagnation in the skin,therapies should focus on drying dampness and fortifying the spleen.If impaired qi transformation prevents proper fluid distri-bution,causing dampness accumulation in the skin,bland diuretic drugs are recommended to drain dampness gently.关键词
