Abstract

Composite soil conditioners were prepared with titanium gypsum and plant ash as raw materials mixed at different ratios,along with corresponding embedded pellets.Pot experiments were conducted to investigate their amelioration performance on acidic soils and growth-promoting effects on oat grass.In addition,the enzyme activities in the remediated soil were determined.The results demonstrated that single application of either plant ash or titanium gypsum increased soil pH and the plant height and dry biomass of oat grass.At a 5%application rate,the titanium gypsum-plant ash composite soil conditioners exhibited the most pronounced acidic soil amelioration performance and plant growth-promoting performance.In both strongly acidic(pH 4.5)and weakly acidic(pH 6.5)soils,the embedded pellets further enhanced the comprehensive performance of composite conditioners,significantly increasing the plant height and dry biomass of oat grass and markedly enhancing the activities of dehydrogenase and urease in the soil.The results demonstrate that the embedded composite soil conditioners enhance soil fertility,exhibiting outstanding performance in acidic soil remediation,plant growth promotion,and soil enzyme activity enhancement across soils with varying acidification levels.
