Abstract

The effect of AlH3 with equal mass and volume of Al powder replacement on the mechanical properties of GAP/AlH3 propellant was tested by using an electronic universal material testing machine.The morphology of Al powder and AlH3 were observed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)equipment.The wettability of Al powder and AlH3 with GAP were carried out by using the contact angle method.The interfacial adhesion properties of AlH3/GAP composites were investi-gated by using in-situ tensile scanning electron microscopy,dynamic thermo mechanical analysis(DMA).The results showed that replacing equal mass and volume of Al powder with AlH3 resulted in an increase in the tensile strength and modulus of the propellant,while the elongation rate decreased.The shape of Al powder is spherical,while the shape of AlH3 powder is cu-bic.The adhesive work between Al and GAP(80.5mN/m)is lower than that between AlH3 and GAP(130.6mN/m),while the interfacial tension between Al and GAP(52.6mN/m)is higher than that between AlH3 and GAP(29.4mN/m),indicating that the wettability of AlH3 and GAP is better than that of Al powder.The AlH3/GAP composite does not exhibit significant de-humidification during the stretching process,and the interface adhesion is good.
