《医学心悟》辨治便秘思路探究及临证举隅
Exploration of Diagnosis and Treatment Approaches for Constipation in Medicine Insights and Clinical Case in Practice

Abstract
Through the study of Cheng Guopeng's classic clinical work Medicine Insights,it was found that Cheng's approaches to and characteristics of the diagnosis and treatment of constipation were distinct.Firstly,by examining the symptoms and identifying the causes,four causes of disease and pathogenic mechanisms were concluded,including"excess closure"due to Yangming stomach excess and the obstruction of the internal organs and Qi,"empty closure"due to the deficiency of essence and blood and the lack of nourishment in the intestines,"heat closure"due to the accumulation of pathogenic heat within the body and stagnation of the intestines,and"cold closure"due to the central deficiency,visceral coldness,and intestinal coagulation and failure.Secondly,according to the specific symptoms,the treatments were carried out separately,including removing fullness and cleansing the internal organs,nourishing blood and essence,as well as moistening intestines and promoting bowel movements,clearing heat and eliminating accumulation,as well as purging and removing stagnation,and warming spleen and stomach for dispelling cold,as well as invigorating spleen and promoting intestinal circulation.Finally,tailored treatments shall be adopted according to the symptoms of deficiency or excess,the severity of the disease,and the strength of the body.When the disease is alleviated,the treatment shall be stopped immediately to avoid overuse.By applying his diagnosis and treatment approaches to clinical practice,the authors gained some insights and gave explanations to provide inspiration for clinical practice.关键词
