Analysis of Tapio decoupling effect of water-energy-economy in Jianghuai hilly region

Abstract
To analyze the decoupling relationship between regional economic development and water and energy consumption,further clarifying the degree of regional dependence on water and energy throughout historical development,and to better guide the revision of regional water-related policies and sustainable development,this study focused on the Jianghuai hilly region to investigate the decoupling effects between water,energy,and economic development.Under the Tapio-LMDI theoretical frame-work,a quantitative model for carbon emission decoupling factors in the Jianghuai hilly region was constructed.Based on the statistical indicators of carbon emissions,carbon emission intensity,industrial water consumption,and industrial added value in the study area from 2004 to 2023,the study analyzed the changes in regional economic development,carbon emissions,decou-pling status,and the contribution and rate of each variable to the decoupling effect.The study showed that since 2004,the overall trend of regional carbon emissions had been fluctuating upwards,while the intensity of water and energy consumption had been declining year by year.The Jianghuai hilly region had gradually shifted from a resource-dependent model to one with low dependence and high added value growth.Measures to improve water use efficiency and technological levels would help to further consolidate the regional carbon decoupling effect and promote green sustainable development.关键词
