摘要

Abstract

[Objective]This study aimed to address the challenges of high turbidity,high organic content,and microbial risks in backwash wastewater from sand filters at Shanghai HN water treatment plant(WTP).The research was conducted to identify the optimal combined treatment process for ensuring reclaimed water quality safety while providing technical support for water plant energy conservation and emission reduction.[Methods]Four combined treatment processes were employed:gravity pre-concentration,"pre-concentration+high velocityfiber filter","pre-concentration+high velocityfiber filter+UV disinfection",and"pre-concentration+flat ceramic membrane".The removal efficiencies of each process were evaluated for key water quality parameters including turbidity,aluminum,CODMn,TOC,UV254,total bacterial count,and microbial community diversity.[Results]Physicochemical removal efficiency:The"pre-concentration+ceramic membrane"process demonstrated optimal performance,achieving removal rates of 95.07%for turbidity,91.97%for aluminum,39.78%for CODMn,24.45%for TOC,and 97.65%for ATP.None of the treatment processes showed significant removal effect on UV254.Microbial control:Both the"pre-concentration+fiber filter+UV disinfection"and"pre-concentration+ceramic membrane"processes achieved bacterial count removal rates exceeding 95%.The effluent treated by the"pre-concentration+ceramic membrane"process exhibited reduced microbial species richness with fewer dominant species and more even distribution.Proteobacteria was identified as the dominant phylum across all samples.Special attention should be paid to controlling the proliferation of poorly-settling algae during wastewater reuse.[Conclusion]The"pre-concentration+ceramic membrane"combined process demonstrated superior comprehensive performance in turbidity reduction,organic matter removal,and microbial control,making it the preferred solution for sand filter backwash wastewater reuse.However,supplementary measures for algae control are necessary to ensure long-term operational stability.
