摘要

Abstract

[Objective]This study aims to explore the genetic basis of stem diameter and internode length traits in oriental melon,thus providing theoretical guidance for the genetic improvement of stem diameter and internode length traits,and laying the theoretical foundation for the cultivation of ideal plant type varieties in melon.[Method]The oriental melon inbred line M125 and M30 were used as experimental materials to build the six generation populations.The genetic model analysis software package was used to analyse stem diameter and internode length,and maximum likelihood function value(MLV)as well as akaike information criterion(AIC)of 24 models were calculated.The model primary selection was conducted based on the AIC minimum principle,and three models were selected for each trait.The candidate models were tested for fitness.The model with minimal statistically significant deviations was identified as optimal,followed by derivation of its primary and secondary genetic parameters.[Result]Statistical analysis revealed that the mean values of stem diameter and internode length in F1 progeny were intermediate between the two parental lines,with a significant biastoward the maternal parent.The stem diameter fits into the two pairs of additive-dominant-epistatic master genes plus additive-dominant multigene inheritance model.The first-order genetic parameters showed that the additive effect values for the two major genes were 1.51,and the dominant effect values for the first and second pair of the main genes were-0.39 and 0.06,respectively.The dominance degree of the two major pairs(|ha/da|、|hb/db|)was 0.26 and 0.04,indicating a partial dominant effect of the two major pairs.The sum of the absolute values of the additive effects of the two main genes was higher than the sum of the dominant effect,which indicated that the inheritance of stem diameter in oriental melon was dominated by additive positive effects with synergistic effect.The second-order genetic parameters showed that the main genes and polygenic heritability of the F2 population was 82.27%and 3.21%,respectively.The heritability of the major genes in B1 and B2 population was 83.75%and 52.13%,respectively,and the polygenetic heritability was 7.27%and 0,respectively.The internode length conforms to the genetic model of two pairs of additive-dominant-epistatic major genes plus additive-dominant-epistatic polygenes.The first-order genetic parameters showed that both additive effect values for the main genes were 13.26,and the dominant effect values for the first and second pair of the major genes were-17.17 and 4.38,respectively.The dominance degree of the two major pairs was 1.29 and 0.33,indicating superdominance for the first and partially dominant for the second.The sum of the absolute values of the additive effects of the two pairs of main genes was higher than the sum of the dominant effect,which indicated that the inheritance of stem internode length in oriental melon was dominated by additive positive effect,and the additive effect was stronger than the dominant effect.The second-order genetic parameters showed that the heritability of main genes and polygenes in the F2 population was 84.26%and 8.93%,respectively.The major genes heritability of B1 and B2 was 77.76%and 89.99%,respectively,and the polygenic heritability was 14.58%and 0,respectively.[Conclusion]The heritability of the major genes for stem diameter and internode length traits of oriental melon is high,and the additive effect was stronger than the dominant effect.Therefore,the selection of stem diameter and internode length traits is suitable for early generations during melon breeding.
