Abstract

The basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH)gene family,a major class of transcription factors,is widely present in plants and plays crucial roles in regulating plant growth and development,signal transduction mechanisms,biosynthetic activities,and responses to abiotic stresses.To investigate the structural characteristics and functions of the CabHLH71-Like gene and elucidate its molecular regulatory mechanism in pepper,this study utilized a pepper inbred line LY0(Capsicum annuum L.)as the experimental material.The full-length coding sequence of CabHLH71-Like was cloned,followed by bioinformatic analysis and investigation of its spatiotemporal expression patterns.The results revealed that the coding sequence of CabHLH71-Like spans 939 base pairs,encoding 342 amino acids.The protein's molecular formula is C1662H2663N481O523S11,with a relative molecular mass of approximately 38,104.00 Da.The protein was identified as hydrophilic and unstable.Subcellular localization and transmembrane domain analysis predicted that the CabHLH71-Like protein is localized in the nucleus and is a non-transmembrane protein.Phylogenetic tree construction and homologous sequence alignment demonstrated close evolutionary relationships with species such as Capsicum chinense,with all compared sequences containing the conserved bHLH_AtFAMA_like domain.Quantitative real-time PCR results indicated that CabHLH71-Like exhibited the highest expression in LY0 leaves,followed by fruits.During fruit development,its expression increased progressively with ripening.This study lays a foundation for further exploration of the biological functions of the bHLH transcription factor family and the molecular regulatory mechanisms of CabHLH71-Like gene in pepper,providing valuable insights,particularly regarding its role in pepper leaves.
