Abstract

Pepper occupies an important position in China's vegetable industry.With the rapid development of the pepper industry,the problem of continuous cropping obstacles has become increasingly prominent.The continuous cropping pattern of pepper can lead to the deterioration of soil physical and chemical properties and the reduction of soil enzyme activity.To alleviate the continuous cropping obstacles,this study took the soil with 13-year continuous pepper cropping as the research object,and conducted soil fumigation treatments through different measures such as adjusting soil moisture,applying the fungicide Metam-sodium,and adding microbial agents.It aimed to investigate the effects of these treatments on soil enzyme activities,nutrient substances,and microbial communities in the continuous pepper cropping soil.The results showed that when the soil moisture reached 70%,the contents of nitrogen,phosphorus and available potassium in the soil treated with fungicides and microbial agents were significantly increased.There was no significant change in the pH value of the continuous cropping soil for pepper among different treatments,but the organic matter content increased significantly.Except for catalase,the activities of urease,phosphatase,and sucrase in the soil were significantly increased after the combined treatment of fungicides and microbial agents in the C1 treatment(70%soil moisture+Metam-sodium+microbial agents).Meanwhile,although the number of soil microbial populations decreased compared with the control group,the proportions of beneficial bacteria(Penicillium,Aspergillus,Pseudothielavia,Myceliophthora,and Mycothermus)were improved to varying degrees in the C1 treatment.This study shows that reasonable soil fumigation treatment combined with the application of fungicides and microbial agents can effectively improve soil nutrient status and promote the formation of dominant populations of beneficial microorganisms in the plant rhizosphere.It provides a technical regulation measure for improving soil problems caused by continuous pepper cropping.
