摘要

Abstract

Lithium-ion batteries have become the preferred power source for electric vehicles due to their high energy density,long lifespan,and environmental friendliness.However,the frequent spontaneous combustion incidents of electric vehicles in recent years have sparked widespread societal concern and deep apprehension.In the safety protection system for traction batteries,passive thermal safety protection serves as the last line of defense against battery thermal runaway,directly influencing the extent of thermal runaway diffusion and the magnitude of the associated hazards.As a significant member of the traction battery family,pouch batteries exhibit high safety at the individual cell level.However,they face numerous technical challenges in passive thermal safety protection at the system level.This paper provides an in-depth discussion of the thermal runaway characteristics and passive thermal safety protection challenges of pouch traction battery systems.It also summarizes and analyzes the current strategies and measures for passive thermal safety protection in pouch batteries.Furthermore,this paper reflects on the development direction of thermal safety protection for pouch traction battery systems,aiming to provide valuable insights and references for technological advancements in this field.
