Abstract

High-temperature heat treatment is a widely adopted method for improving the performance of bamboo materials.However,when nitrogen is used as the protective medium,fungal infection remains a significant concern,and the composition and characteristics of the resulting fungal communities are still not well understood.In this study,fungal infestation communities of high temperature heat-treated bamboo materials(using nitrogen as a protective medium)under natural conditions were explored to reveal their community characteristics and diversity.Morphological observation was carried out on the fungal communities infected by natural fungi in heat treated bamboo materials and untreated bamboo materials,and the fungal species were identified by Internal Transcribed Spacer(ITS)sequence analysis.Metagenomics was used to determine the diversity and species composition of fungal communities in samples,and the distribution characteristics of natural fungal infection in heat-treated bamboo materials were investigated.The results showed that the number of fungal infections on bamboo surface decreased with the increase of heat treatment temperature.The results of strain identification showed that all the bamboo materials infected by fungi mainly contained Aspergillus and Penicillium,while the untreated bamboo materials also contained Nigrospora.The bamboo materials treated at 160 and 180 ℃ also contained Fusarium and Apiospora,respectively.High throughput sequencing showed that Ascomycota and Basidiomycota were the main fungal communities.Aspergillus was the dominant bacteria and Penicillium was the subdominant bacteria in untreated bamboo materials and bamboo materials treated at 200 and 220 ℃,while the subdominant bacteria in bamboo materials treated at 160 and 180 ℃ was Wallemia.After the high temperature heat-treatment,the number of fungal infections decreased significantly with the increase of temperature,and the community diversity and richness increased first and then decreased with the increase of temperature.There was no significant difference in fungal community structure after the natural fungal infection of heat-treated bamboo materials.The study on the fungal community characteristics of surface fungal infection after natural aging of heat-treated bamboo materials would provide theoretical support and guidance for the development of mildew prevention technology of heat-treated bamboo materials.
