Abstract

The relationship between water level and flow rate,as well as the riverbed evolution at Lutaizi station is an important basis for the overall design of flood control scheme and the study of riverbed evolution in the middle reach of Huaihe River.According to the measured cross section,water level and flow rate data from 1960 to 2020,the drop index method is used to process the single value of flow rate,the change trend,annual variation and main influencing factors of water level at different flow rate levels in flood season are analyzed.The results show that the water level has decreased to varying degrees under the same flow level in different years,with severe drops in the water level of medium and low flow,and gentle drops in the water level of floods.The main channel of the cross-section shape is continuously cut down to a stable state,and the beach tends to be stable after expanding double in size in 2000.The expansion of the basic river channel,the change from siltation to erosion in the 1980s,the water blocking at the Xiashankou node,the change of sediment concentration,the sand mining and the opening of the flood discharge area all have certain influence on the relationship between water level and flow rate.The research results can provide a reliable basis for the discharge capacity,flood forecasting and real-time flood control scheduling in the middle and lower reaches of the Huaihe River.
