Abstract

Heavy metal pollution in China's nearshore waters is becoming increasingly serious,threat-ening human health and social development.In order to understand the effects of heavy metal pollution on the growth of marine algae and the concentration and distribution of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM),this study was carried out using the dominant microalgae of the East China Sea,Pro-rocentrum obtusidens Schiller and Skeletonema costatum,as research subjects,and investigated the effects of different concentrations of Cd2+(0.25,0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0 mg·L-1)and Pb2+(0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0,8.0 mg·L-1)on the growth and release of effects of CDOM.The results of the study showed that low concentrations of Cd2+and Pb2+promoted the growth of Skeletonema costatum,and low concentrations of Pb2+promoted the growth of Prorocentrum obtusidens Schiller;high concentra-tions of Cd2+and Pb2+inhibited the growth of the two microalgaes,and the higher the concentration,the stronger the inhibitory effect.High concentrations of Cd2+and Pb2+promoted the release of CDOM from the two microalgaes,while low concentrations of Cd2+and Pb2+had no significant effect on the re-lease of CDOM from the two microalgaes.The tolerance of Cd2+was better than that of Prorocentrum obtusidens Schiller,while the tolerance of Pb2+was better than that of Skeletonema costatum.Three hu-mic-like fractions,Peaks C,M and A,and three protein-like fractions,Peak B,C7 and Peak T,were i-dentified by Excitation-Emission-Matrix Spectra-PARAFAC(EEMs-PARAFAC).One humic-like frac-tion C1,and three protein-like fractions Peak B,Peak A and C7 were identified in Prorocentrum obtusi-dens Schiller.
