Grid Side Voltage Projection Based Pre-synchronization Control for Grid-forming Inverters with Improved Phase Jump Rejection Capability

Abstract
The traditional pre-synchronization method of grid-forming inverter relies on additional phase-locked-loop for phase tracking of the grid voltage and differential calculation of the phase of the grid voltage and the phase of the inverter,which will generate phase error jump problem and further lead to pre-synchronization failure.A novel pre-synchronization method based on grid side voltage projection is proposed in this paper.The grid side voltage is converted through park transform based on the coordinate system of grid-forming inverter itself.This projection component of the grid side voltage reflects phase difference information without any phase jump process.In contrast with the conventional pre-synchronization method,the phase jump problem is successfully avoided without the introduction of additional phase-locked-loop.The small signal model of the proposed grid side voltage projection based pre-synchronization method is established and the parameters selection method is given considering the constraints of damping ratio and overshoot.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified based on 10 kW hardware in loop experimental platform.关键词
