Visualized Analysis of Research Hotspots in Cancer-Related Health Information-Seeking Behavior

Abstract
Objective To conduct a visualized analysis on the current status and hotspots in international research on cancer-related health information-seeking behavior over the past decade,aiming to provide a reference for future research.Methods Articles on cancer-related health information-seeking behavior were searched in the Web of Science Core Collection from January 2014 to December 2023.CiteSpace was used to analyze and map the research fields,author affiliations and countries,high-frequency keywords and co-word clustering of the included articles.Results A total of 699 eligible articles were included.From 2014 to 2023,the volume of publications on cancer-related health information-seeking behavior showed an upward trend;the top contributing country was the United States(384 articles),and the top contributing institution was the National Institutes of Health(34 articles).The top three contributing research fields were public environmental&occupational health,oncology and communication.The top five high-frequency words were knowledge,health information-seeking behavior,influence,eHealth literacy and social support.Co-word clustering yielded 17 clusters,including shared decision-making,social support,disease and cancer survivors.The top five burst words were national trend survey,Internet use,disease,information need and cancer screening.Conclusion The research hotspots in cancer-related health information-seeking behavior focus on the analysis of influencing factors for cancer patients and their families seeking health information,impacts on treatment decisions and cancer screening,and health information-seeking behavior patterns.Future research should explore health information-seeking behavior across different cancer types and develop individualized cancer-related health information-seeking behavior models to enhance patients'health literacy and self-management abilities.关键词
