Abstract
The article releases and analyzes the basic operational characteristics of China's cocoon and silk industry in 2024,the current challenges facing the sector,and the development trends anticipated for 2025.In 2024,although mulberry field area slightly declined,silkworm cocoon production saw modest growth.Silkworm cocoon purchase prices edged up,while industrial economic pressures persisted.The output of major products fluctuated with both increases and decreases,profitability remained under pressure,and industrial raw material prices fell.However,both domestic and international markets picked up.The domestic silk sales market experienced slight growth,the decline in silk exports narrowed,and silk imports remained largely stable.Industry innovation achieved notable results,corporate digital and intelligent transformation accelerated,consumption-boosting initiatives flourished,and industry-related tasks progressed smoothly.The current challenges facing the industry include:increasingly complex and severe external conditions,a generally improving domestic environment,and strong endogenous growth momentum for the sector.For 2025,in terms of sericulture production,national cocoon output is expected to remain relatively stable with minor fluctuations.In industrial production,the growth rate of major silk products may continue to slow in the first half of 2025,but production is likely to stabilize and gradually recover in the latter half.Regarding the domestic market,silk sales are expected to face fiercer price competition from mid-to-low-end products made of other fibers,with volume-driven,low-margin sales becoming the norm for both online and offline silk businesses.In foreign trade,the silk export situation is projected to be challenging,making the stabilization of the industry's export foundation the most critical task for both the sector and enterprises.Enterprises are advised to closely monitor changes in tariff policies,adjust export strategies promptly,and implement necessary risk prevention measures.关键词
