摘要
Abstract
This article reconsiders the common tendency to classify Japanese architecture of the 1970s under the label of"postmodernism".This view was largely shaped by Charles Jencks's repeated use of Japanese examples in his postmodernist writings, which often overlooked the local conditions and intentions behind these works.Through a dual approach-examining both Jencks's framing of Japanese architecture and the Japanese architectural community's contemporary responses-this study reveals how Japanese architects maintained cultural agency.Rather than passively adopting Western theories, they engaged in a process of selective interpretation and strategic self-positioning,contributing to a distinct architectural discourse that emerged under the guise of postmodernism but spoke to Japan's own cultural concerns.关键词
