摘要
Abstract
The correlation between modern architecture and sculptural art is closely intertwined.Sculptural elements embedded within architectural constructs serve as both a medium and a symbolic representation.The varying forms and their fusion with the architectural framework epitomise the architect's acute mindfulness toward reality and sensitivity to diverse environmental contexts.The dynamic alterations in the interplay between sculpture and architecture within I.M.Pei's edifices distinctly mirror his continual immersion and reflective journey into the realm of modernism within his professional endeavours.This paper investigates public art works represented by sculptures.It is an alternative approach based on the comprehensive review of Pei's entire career in modern architectural practice.By examining the hidden relationship between architecture and sculpture,this study reveals the evolution of Pei's creative thinking process,thereby exploring the changes in design concepts throughout his architectural practice.关键词
