摘要

Abstract

The Yellow River is characterized by high sediment concentration and demonstrates a significant role in shaping the river's evolution.However,most earlier studies predominantly focused on the flow magnitude and paid inadequate attention to the effect of sediment concentration.As a result,the existing river facies relationships are insufficient to explain the key issues,including river geometric variability and reach-scale channel patterns.To address this gap,the present study aims to develop a new set of hydro-sediment geometric relations for the lower Yellow River through considering the sediment-concentration influence as well as incorporating the stable channel width criterion.These relations offer a quantitative characterization of sediment-laden capacity,non-settling velocity and bank-full discharge associated with sediment entrainment in the lower Yellow River.The findings of this research provide a scientific basis for promoting the river regulation and sustainable development in this basin.
