Effects of fermented Yupingfeng powder on laying performance,egg quality,serum biochemical indexes,and antioxidant indexes of Roman laying hens

Abstract
The experiment aimed to investigate the effects of fermented Yupingfeng powder on the laying performance,egg quality,serum biochemical indexes,and antioxidant indexes of Roman laying hens during the peak laying period.A total of 320 healthy 370-day-old Roman laying hens with similar body conditions were randomly divided into four groups with eight replicates per group and 10 hens per replicate.The control group was fed the basic diet,and the experimental groups were supplemented with 0.25%,0.50%,and 0.75% fermented Yupingfeng powder in the basic diet,respectively.The pre-test period was seven days and the formal test period was 60 days.The results showed that compared to the control group,the addition of 0.25%,0.50%,and 0.75% fermented Yupingfeng powder in the Roman chicken diet significantly increased egg production,average egg weight,average daily egg weight,albumen height,Haugh units,and yolk color(P<0.05),and the average daily feed intake,feed-to-egg ratio,and serum alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,lactate dehydrogenase activity and uric acid content were significantly reduced(P<0.05).The addition of 0.50%fermented Yupingfeng powder significantly enhanced eggshell strength(P<0.05)and adding 0.50%and 0.75%fermented Yupingfeng powder significantly reduced serum glucose content(P<0.05).Supplementation with 0.25%,0.50%,and 0.75% fermented Yupingfeng powder significantly increased the activity of superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,and total antioxidant capacity in serum and liver(P<0.05),while significantly decreasing the content of malondialdehyde in serum and liver(P<0.05).The study indicates that adding fermented Yupingfeng powder into the diet of Roman hens during the peak laying period can improve production performance,egg quality,enhance liver and kidney function and antioxidant capacity.Under the premise of comprehensive consideration of the cost and benefits of addition,0.25% fermented Yupingfeng powder is recommended.关键词
