Abstract

The experiment aimed to investigate the effect of different vegetable oils on the growth performance,slaughter performance,and meat quality in Fufeng Ma-chicken.A total of 200 Fufeng Ma-chickens at 35 days of age were divided into five groups randomly and assigned to five replicates in each group with eight chickens in each replicate.Among them,group Ⅰ was the control group,fed with a basal diet.Groups Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ and Ⅴ were the experimental groups,which added 3% sesame oil,peanut oil,camellia oil,and soybean oil to the basal diet,respectively.The pre-test period was seven days and the formal test period was 35 days,which was divided into two stages,the early stage of two weeks(seven to eight weeks in age)and the last stage of three weeks(nine to 11 weeks in age).The results showed that compared with group Ⅰ,the average daily gain(ADG)of chickens from group Ⅱ in nine to 11 weeks,and the ADG,the final weight from group Ⅳ in seven to eight weeks,nine to 11 weeks and seven to 11 weeks were increased significantly(P<0.05),however,the ratio of feed to gain from group Ⅳ was significantly reduced(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in slaughter performance between the four experimental groups and group Ⅰ(P>0.05).Compared with the group Ⅰ,the brightness of chickens from group Ⅱ was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and that in group Ⅴ was significantly increased(P<0.05).The water-holding capacity of meat in group Ⅴ was significantly lower than that in group Ⅰ(P<0.05),and the shear force of meat in groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ was significantly higher than that in group Ⅰ(P<0.05).Compared with the groupⅠ,the total amino acid content of four experimental groups was increased by 9.28%,7.61%,3.70% and 4.56%,and the flavor amino acid content was increased by 8.59%,7.58%,3.20% and 3.98%,respectively.In addition,the inosine content in the four experimental groups was increased by 3.13%,20.31%,5.73% and 2.08%,and the total unsaturated fatty acids content was also increased by 13.22%,16.06%,5.42% and 21.38%,respectively.The study shows that the addition of 3.0% camellia oil in the diet improves the growth performance and meat quality of Fufeng Ma-chickens.
