Infiltration characteristics of slopes of soil-rock engineering accumulation bodies under different vegetation cover types in karst areas

Abstract
[Objective]This study aims to reveal the effects of different vegetation cover types on infiltration characteristics of the slopes of soil-rock engineering accumulation bodies in karst areas,providing a scientific basis for addressing the challenges of infiltration regulation in soil erosion prevention and control and ecological restoration of the accumulation body in these areas.[Methods]This study conducted double-ring infiltration experiments to investigate the infiltration characteristics of the slope of soil-rock engineering accumulation body with different restoration periods(3 a,5 a,7 a)and different vegetation cover types(grassland and grass-shrub mixture)in the karst area of Guizhou Province.Principal component analysis(PCA)was applied to further analyze its infiltration performance.[Results](1)The infiltration process in the slope of the accumulation body showed a rapid initial decline followed by a gradual stabilization,and the Horton model was found suitable for simulating this process.(2)Vegetation measures significantly improved the water infiltration performance on the slope of accumulation body.The vegetation restoration type of grass-shrub mixture was better than grassland in terms of soil water infiltration.(3)Soil water infiltration on the slope of accumulation body was jointly affected by multiple factors,showing significant correlations with non-capillary porosity,organic matter,and aboveground biomass.(4)The correlation of infiltration characteristics of the accumulation body with material composition and basic characteristics was complex,indicating the need for further study of interaction mechanism and consideration of additional influencing factors.[Conclusion]The infiltration performance of the slopes of soil-rock engineering accumulation bodies in karst areas is affected by multiple factors.As an ideal vegetation pattern,grass-shrub mixture helps improve their infiltration performance.关键词
