Changes in the"analogy vegetative reproduction"of Juglans regia age structure and dynamics to slope directions in Wild Walnut Natural Conservation Area in Xinjiang,China

Abstract
Juglans regia is tertiary period relict species.Some branches of J.regia can grow to mature trees form maternal plant.In order to know age structure of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia population and to predict the future development trend.In this paper,the general census method was used to investigate the"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia in Xinjiang Wild Walnut Nature Reserve.The DBH class structure was substituted for the age structure,the static life table of the population was compiled by the smoothing technique,analyzed age structure,produced survivorship,mortality curves,as well as the population dynamics.And comparative fluctuations cycles of the populations in different slope directions were carried out by spectral analysis.In addition,analysis was performed to reveal the effect of slope factors on population dynamics of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia and fluctuations cycles.Results are as follows.(1)The individual of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia in semi-shady slope,where the distribution percentage was 43.7%,was the highest,next was semi-sunny slope,where the distribution percentage was 35.3%,then was shady slope,where the distribution percentage was 13.3%,while only 7.65%in sunny slope.(2)The age structures of all populations in different slope directions were roughly spindle-shaped,with abundant mature individuals but few seedlings(saplings)and few old plants.But the dynamic index(vpi`,vpi)of each slope population was greater than"0",indicating that all populations were the growing type,and the growth potential was sunny slope<semi-sunny slope<semi-shady slope<shady slope.(3)In different slope directions were highly sensitive to the external disturbances,among which shady slope had the highest probability of being disturbed,semi-sunny slope had the lowest probability of being disturbed.(4)In four slope directions,the curves of mortality showed multiple peaks:the population in sunny slope had the highest peak in 4th in their life history,the mortality rate of 17 age class in semi-sunny slope,the mortality rate of 13 age class in shady slope,and the mortality rates of 9 age class in semi-shady slope;and the population survival curves were close to Deevey-Ⅱ type in the four slope directions.(5)In different slope directions population dynamics was significantly affected by the fundamental wave of biological characteristic throughout the life cycle of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia population,the harmonics of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia population fluctuated at A6-A7,small cycles of multi-harmonic superposition with large cycles were presented,and the harmonics of"analogy vegetative reproduction"of J.regia population fluctuated at old age class.关键词
