Research on ecological product survey methods integrating multiple management boundaries:a case study of Yucun village,Anji

Abstract
China's comprehensive investigation and monitoring systems for natural resources and ecological environments-encompassing forests,water,land,atmosphere,and biodiversity-play a foundational and strategic role in supporting the baseline survey of ecological products.These systems provide essential data sources and technical pathways for understanding the distribution,quantity,quality,and value potential of ecological products across various ecological regions.By fully utilizing the achievements and technologies developed through national land resource surveys,forest inventories,and watershed soil and water conservation monitoring programs,it is possible to rapidly and efficiently assess the ecological product baselines in a systematic and science-based manner.This study proposes a novel methodology for constructing fundamental grid units for ecological product investigation and monitoring,derived through the fusion of multiple boundary systems.The method is guided by the principles of administrative jurisdiction,ecosystem integrity,and the interconnectedness of ecological processes.A case study in Yucun Village,Anji County,serves as a pilot area to test and refine this integrated approach.The research develops a comprehensive methodological framework that includes the construction of a digital ecological product base map,the design of systematic survey routes,and the investigation of perceptual ecological attributes,especially those relevant to landsenses ecology and visual-aesthetic qualities of the environment.The proposed grid units incorporate and synthesize key existing spatial divisions,including forest land sub-compartments,clean small watersheds,and administrative boundaries.By doing so,the study establishes basic ecological product survey units that are both ecologically meaningful and operationally feasible,facilitating the integration of ecological product inventory,storage,monitoring,and management.The findings highlight the importance of respecting the ownership structure of natural resources,understanding the dynamics and flows of ecosystem processes,and identifying the material,ecological,and cultural values associated with forest,grassland,and wetland resources.Moreover,the study addresses the technical challenges posed by the heterogeneity and fragmentation of spatial boundaries across various survey systems,such as those for land,forestry,wetlands,and watershed monitoring.It proposes effective strategies for boundary harmonization,aiming to enrich the indicators used in ecological product classification,valuation,and policy decision-making.Ultimately,the delineation method for ecological product survey and monitoring units presented in this research offers practical guidance for local governments and ecological managers.It supports the establishment of robust baseline datasets and provides a scientific basis for realizing ecological product value.This contributes to improving valuation mechanisms and advancing China's broader ecological civilization and sustainable development objectives.关键词
