Abstract

[Aim]The aim of this study was to control Spartina alterniflora scientifically and effectively and provide a scientific basis and technical support for making control decisions for S.alterniflora.[Method]Different concentrations of imazapyr(0,11.940,14.925,and 17.910 L·hm-2)were used to control S.alterniflora.The control effects were compared and the amount of residual imazapyr in the environment after use was investigated.[Result]Three different concentrations of imazapyr had significant effects on the control of S.alterniflora,but there was minor difference in the effectiveness among concentrations.Imazapyr had a high residual amount in plants,and the residual time was approximately 30 days longer in plants than in soil and interstitial water.Imazapyr quickly dissipated and degraded in water and soil,resulting in a residual time less than 30 days.[Conclusion]Imazapyr can be used to control S.alterniflora.It acted on the leaves of S.alterniflora and destroyed the plasma membrane and chloroplast structures by increasing the malondialdehyde content and decreasing the chlorophyll content,leading to a decrease in photosynthesis ability and the death of S.alterniflora.A higher concentration of imazapyr resulted in a higher amount of residue and a longer residual time,but it degraded completely over time.Thus,imazapyr is a green and efficient chemical inhibitor.
