摘要

Abstract

[Aim]Spodoptera litura is a long-distance migratory pest.The aim of this study was to elucidate its flight protein gene ex-pression in relation with its energy metabolic system.[Method]Based on adult thoracic transcriptome and gene function annotations,the structural proteins of the flight muscles,energy metabolism pathways and key enzymes in S.litura were elucidated.[Result]There are 10 different families of flight muscle structural proteins were annotated in S.litura.Among them,the numbers of transcripts for my-osin and actin are relatively large,with 29 and 43 transcripts,respectively.Additionally,a flightin coding gene was discovered.The flightin protein exhibited six specific motifs,with motif 1 displaying distinctive amino acid characteristics at specific loci in Lepidoptera insects.A total of 33 key enzyme genes involved in flight energy metabolism were annotated in S.litura.Based on these genes,three possible pathways for flight energy metabolism were constructed:the glycolysis pathway(comprising 15 enzymes),the fatty acid path-way(comprising 7 enzymes),and the proline oxidation pathway(comprising 4 enzymes).The products of these three pathways ulti-mately enter the tricarboxylic acid cycle(TCA cycle)through 7 enzymes to generate energy.Furthermore,two isomers of 3-phospho-glycerol dehydrogenase(GPDH)were annotated in S.litura.The flight muscles GPDH isoforms of Drosophila contain a specific C-ter-minal tripeptide,while the GPDH isoforms of Lepidoptera insects such as S.litura have a conserved C-terminal tetrapeptide,indicating species-specific evolution of GPDH.[Conclusion]This study provides basic data for the analysis of structural proteins and energy me-tabolism mechanisms of S.litura,and molecular information for the control of migratory pests.
