Effect of Higher Education Development on New Quality Productivity and Its Action Mechanism

Abstract
One important aspect of fully leveraging the leading role of higher education in the construction of a strong country is to strive to promote the formation of new quality productivity.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2022,this paper empirically examines the impact of higher education development on new quality productivity and its action mechanism.The research findings are as follows:The development of higher education plays a significant role in promoting the for-mation of new quality productivity.Optimizing the structure of higher education development is of great significance,and at the same time,it is necessary to moderately expand the capacity of high-quality undergraduate education.The development of higher education promotes the formation of new quality productivity through three intermediary mechanisms:talent cultivation,scientific research,and integration of industry and education.The promoting effect of higher education development on the new quality pro-ductivity in the central and western regions is higher than that in the eastern region,that is,there is regional heterogeneity,and there is structural heterogeneity due to the differences in per capita regional GDP and regional cultural capital stock.关键词
