Abstract
Objective To understand the real experience and feelings of junior obstetric nurses on the cultivation of core competencies.Methods The purposive sampling was used to conduct semi-structured interviews with 10 junior nurses and 5 managers from the Obstetrics Department of Xiangnan University Affiliated Hospital from January to March 2024,and Colaizzi's 7-step analysis method was used for data analysis.Results The results extracted four themes of core competency training for junior nurses in the obstetrics department:advantages,recognition,challenges,and abilities.Conclusion The growth and maturity of junior nurses require multiple aspects of training and management.The cultivation of core competencies for junior obstetric nurses can promote their growth.At the same time,managers also face challenges and need to diversify training content and methods to meet the needs of core competency cultivation for junior nurses.关键词
