Abstract

This paper introduces an integrated sensing and communication(ISAC)network architecture for low-altitude economy(LAE),which encompasses network modeling based on stochastic geometry,cooperative beamforming design,and network-level performance analysis of communication and sensing.In this network,ISAC-enabled base stations(BSs)are distributed according to a two-dimensional homogeneous Poisson point process,serving terrestrial communication users while simultaneously sensing aerial targets.Specifically,this paper designs a cooperative beamforming scheme to mitigate interference among ISAC BSs.Furthermore,the communication and sensing performances are analyzed in terms of various metrics,including area communication coverage probability,area communication spectral efficiency,area radar detection coverage probability,and average Cramér-Rao Bound.Simulation results validate the theoretical analysis and illustrate the impact of key system parameters on network performance.The study reveals that both communication and sensing performances depend on BS density and height,while sensing performance is also influenced by target height,the number of subcarriers,and the number of symbols.Additionally,there exists a trade-off between communication and sensing performances with respect to BS density and height.The findings of this paper provide a valuable guidance for the design and implementation of air-ground wireless networks,facilitating the full exploitation of the dual benefits of ISAC,and empowering the LAE hopefully.
