Dual-objective optimization method for UAV-assisted MEC task offloading

Abstract
In the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)-assisted Mobile Edge Computing(MEC),existing research focuses primarily on the energy consumption constraints of UAVs during the trajectory design phase,while often overlooking the impact of the task load.During the task offloading phase,the total energy consumption is not comprehensively considered,which may fail to minimize the total energy consumption of UAVs and terminal devices.To solve this problem,a dual-objective optimization method for UAV assisted MEC task offloading is proposed.First,considering the task requirements and UAV energy consumption at different locations,we introduce the concept of location interest index(LIX),and establish an adaptive UAV trajectory design model with task attributes.Then a dual-objective optimization task offloading model is established to minimize task completion time and total energy consumption of UAVs and terminal devices.Second,by analyzing the effect of the UAV position on the task completion time and energy consumption,this study integrates UAV trajectory design,task offloading,and adaptive trajectory updates to propose an Adaptive Task Offloading Strategy based on LIX(ATOSL).This strategy achieves a dual-objective optimization for task offloading,balancing both completion time and energy efficiency.Finally,simulation experiments are designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of ATOSL in achieving the dual optimization objectives of minimizing the task completion time and the total energy consumption of the UAVs and terminal devices.关键词
