Communication Mode and Guidance Strategies of Polarized Online Public Opinion in the Intelligent Era:Methodological Insights from Process System

Abstract
In the era of intelligent communication,the models of information dissemination—characterized by human-machine collaborative interaction,media pluralism,and algorithm-driven content distribution—have collectively contributed to the instability of opinion polarization structures.These developments have rendered the forms of polarization increasingly stochastic,multidimensional,and multidirectional,thereby exerting a systemic impact on both ideological security and the integrity of online content ecologies.While the infectious disease model has been widely adopted in scholarly research to investigate various patterns of information diffusion,its application to the structural characteristics and path dynamics of opinion polarization in the context of intelligent communication remains limited.Addressing this gap requires incorporating the variable of intelligent communicative agents into a more holistic,system-based understanding of polarization phenomena. Drawing on the dynamic modeling logic of the classical infectious model—particularly the"information exposure-cognitive response-state transition"process—this study adapts its principles of population classification and state transition to the domain of public opinion communication.Informed by the current evolution of intelligent communication,we introduce the concept of dual opinion agents comprising both intelligent agents and human beings,and construct a public opinion polarization model in the intelligent era:the GA-SNIR model.This model centers on the interaction between social actors and intelligent agents,illustrating the role transitions of various communicative subjects throughout the process of opinion polarization.It further delineates the diffusion pathways and structural evolution of polarized opinion across different types of actors under the influence of intelligent agents,highlighting their critical role in shaping information flow,intervening in cognitive states,and structuring the dynamics of polarized opinion.Intelligent agents,operating through a three dimensional mechanism of"recognition-induction-catalysis",interact with human participants and significantly influence the trajectory and intensity of opinion polarization.This model,from the perspective of the three-dimensional unity of the communication structure,communication mode and communication process,not only reveals the multi-agent interaction structure of the polarization phenomenon of public opinion in the intelligent era,which features diverse communication attitudes and multiple communication subjects,as well as the mechanism characteristics of the position-driven popularization interpretation method and the competitive contest between the public opinion guide and the core disseminator of the polarized public opinion;but also reveals the mechanism characteristics of the multi-factor coupling relationship of key nodes in the human-machine collaborative environment. Compared with prior literature,this study contributes in two major respects.First,it conceptualizes opinion polarization as a processual system,critically examining the applicability and limitations of infectious disease models in this context.It highlights the dialectical relationship between the systemic structure of polarization and its social consequences,and offers methodological guidance for constructing polarization communication models.Second,by proposing the dual-subject configuration of"intelligent agents+human beings"and formulating the GA-SNIR model,it provides a novel theoretical framework for analyzing opinion polarization.This framework explicates both the core components and operational mechanisms of polarization from the perspective of integrated communication dimensions. Ultimately,this study sheds light on the multi-directional evolution of public opinion in digital public spheres,offering theoretical insights and practical implications for governmental efforts in public opinion governance,algorithmic regulation,and the protection of ideological security in the intelligent communication era.关键词
