Anti-icing Measures for Metal Structure Equipment of the Maerdang Hydropower Station on the Yellow River in Qinghai

Abstract
The Maerdang Hydropower Station on the Yellow River in Qinghai is located in an inland high-altitude and extremely cold re-gion.With long-lasting and severe winters,an ice cover forms in the reservoir area after impoundment,posing operational safety haz-ards to metal structure equipment.To ensure the normal operation of metal structure equipment at the Maerdang Hydropower Station un-der severe winter conditions,suitable anti-icing measures were studied and proposed for metal structure equipment in areas at risk of icing.The results show that:compressed air bubble-blowing devices are installed on the upstream side of the radial working gate leaf panel of the spillway,and heating cables are embedded in the gate slot embedments;heating plates are installed on the downstream side of the radial working gate leaf panel with an eccentric hinge in the flood discharge and emptying tunnel;the reducer equipment of the mobile hoist at the intake dam crest is equipped with heating devices and uses low-temperature lubricating grease;heating devices are installed in the hydraulic hoist oil tank,and low-temperature anti-wear hydraulic oil is used.Operational results show that the e-quipment in the above-mentioned parts operates well,with remarkable anti-icing effects,providing a reference for anti-icing and ice-melting designs of metal structure equipment in hydropower stations in high-altitude and extremely cold regions.关键词
