Abstract

Cement stabilized aggregate is the most commonly used material for asphalt pavement base.In order to verify the feasibility of applying the rubber powder made from waste tires in cement stabilized aggregate,based on the unconfined com-pression strength test,splitting strength test,freezing and thawing test and dry shrinkage test,the influence of waste rubber powder content and particle size on the road performance of cement stabilized aggregate is studied.The results showed that the addition of waste rubber powder reduced the unconfined compression strength and splitting tensile strength of cement stabi-lized aggregate,but they could still meet the requirements of the specification.Waste rubber powder significantly improved the frost resistance of cement stabilized aggregate.Adding waste rubber powder could reduce the dry shrinkage strain of ce-ment stabilized aggregate by more than 40%,and significantly improved its crack resistance.The smaller the particle size of rubber powder,the smaller the negative effect on the strength of cement stabilized aggregate,and the better the effect of impro-ving its frost resistance and crack resistance.
