Abstract

Wind farm clutter may lead to the problem of reduced target tracking ability of airborne radar,which affects its target de-tection and parameter estimation performance,so it is of great significance to effectively analyze the echo characteristics of wind farm for the airborne radar.Therefore,a fine modeling method of wind farm echoes for the airborne array radar considering the ac-tual electromagnetic scattering characteristics of wind turbine is proposed.The physical optical method is used to calculate the radar cross section of wind turbine under the different attitudes,and the echoes model for the array radar is combined to realize the fine modeling of wind turbine echoes at any observation point.On this basis,the influence of platform motion and short coherent pro-cessing interval on the fine modeling of the wind farm clutter is explored.The experimental results show that the movement of the platform will cause the radar cross section variance of the wind turbines,which will affect the amplitude of the radar echoes,and the fine modeling of the radar echoes considering the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the wind turbine clutter can realize the fine description of the wind farm clutter.
