Abstract

This paper designs a dual-polarized low-profile 5G base station antenna array with a center frequency of 3.5 GHz,and achieves high performance indicators by optimizing the array structure and signal processing scheme.The profile height of the designed array is 14 mm(corresponding to 0.163 times the operating wavelength),which meets the miniaturization requirements of the base station antenna.The simulation results show that the return loss of each subarray unit in the working bandwidth is less than 10 dB.The isolation between co-polarization ports within subarrays is better than 25 dB.The isolation of the co/cross-polarization ports between sub-arrays are all greater than 20 dB.The main lobe gain is more than 15 dB,and the horizontal and vertical sidelobe suppression ratio is greater than 20 dB in the 60° coverage range.All performance parameters meet the design requirements,which verifies the effectiveness of the structure in suppressing inter-subarray interference and improving signal quality,and provides a feasible solution for high-density 5G network deployment.
