Abstract

To study the effects of different alkalinity environments on the water quality and culture traits of indoor high-density culture of Procambarus clarkii,and to explore the alkalinity conditions to achieve the optimal water quality and culture traits,P.clarkii samples were cultured at high density in canvas tanks and splashed with different concentrations of NaHCO3 to regulate the alkalinity environment.A control group and three alkalinity treatment groups of low(70 mg·L-1 CaCO3),medium(100 mg·L-1 CaCO3)and high(130 mg·L-1 CaCO3)were set up.The culture density of P.clarkii was 100 ind·m-2.The results of 50 d culture test showed that the effects of alkalinity on the water temperature and dissolved oxygen of the culture water were not significant(P>0.05),while the effects on pH,suspended solids,ammonia nitrogen,nitrite,nitrate,phosphate and dissolved CO2 were significant(P<0.05).Culture trait parameters:survival rate,weight gain rate,weight gain per week,and final biomass were significantly(P<0.05)better in medium and high alkalinity treatment groups than those in the control group.The final mean weight of P.clarkii in the high alkalinity treatment was significantly better than that of the control and low alkalinity treatment groups(P<0.05),and the bait coefficient was significantly lower than that of the medium alkalinity treatment group(P<0.05).The alkalinity environment was conducive to maintaining stable water quality,which could effectively improve the survival rate and growth rate(e.g.,body weight gain and weekly growth weight,etc.)of P.clarkii.The best effect was achieved when the alkalinity was maintained at the concentration of 130 mg·L-1 CaCO3.But whether the alkalinity can be further increased to achieve better results still needs to be further investigated.
