温阳柔筋法火针治疗对膝骨关节炎患者疼痛阈值和膝关节功能的影响
Effect of fire acupuncture for warming Yang and softing sinew on pain threshold and knee joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis

Abstract
Objective It is to investigate the effects fire acupuncture for warming Yang and softing sinew on pain threshold and knee joint function in patients with(KOA).Methods Sixty patients with KOA recruited from the Acupunc-ture Department of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were randomly divided into two groups:the western medicine group(n=30)was treated with diclofenac diethylamine latex by external application on knee joint,and the fire aupuncture group(n=30)was treated with fire acupuncture for warming Yang and softing sinew,both groups were treated for 6 weeks.The local mechanical pain threshold(detected by electronic VonFrey),pressure pain threshold(detected by pressure pain testing needle),pain numerical rating scale(NRS)scores,and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)scores of patients in the two groups were observed and compared before and after treatment,and the adverse reactions occurred in both groups were also recorded.Results After 6 weeks of treatment,the mechanical pain threshold and pressure pain threshold of patients in the fire acu-puncture group were significantly higher than those before treatment and in the western medicine group at the same period(all P<0.05),while the NRS score and WOMAC subscale scores were significantly lower than those before treatment and in the western medicine group at the same period(all P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the mechanical pain threshold,pressure pain threshold and WOMAC subscale scores between before and after treatment in the western medicine group(all P>0.05),while the NRS score after treatment were significantly lower than those before treat-ment(P<0.05).One case of ecchymosis occurred in the fire acupuncture group after treatment,which resolved spontane-ously after 3 days;no treatment-related adverse reactions were observed in the western medicine group.Conclusion Fire acupuncture for warming Yang and softing sinew can effectively increase pain thresholds,alleviate pain,and improve joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis,with good safety.关键词
