Dynamic experience of power:The effects and theoretical explanations of power fluctuation
摘要
Abstract
Although power fluctuation is prevalent in organizations,our understanding of it is rather limited.Previous studies have explored power fluctuation from diverse theoretical perspectives,offering insights into its positive or negative effects.However,the mechanisms underlying why and how power fluctuation leads to differential outcomes remain unclear.Therefore,the purpose of this review is to construct an integrated framework for the double-edged sword effect of power fluctuation.By conceptualizing power fluctuation as a stressor and drawing on the cognitive appraisal theory of stress,we aim to explain why and how power fluctuation leads to differential consequences by elaborating on individuals' cognitive appraisals,coping strategies,and underlying moderating factors.Finally,this review provides a strategic agenda highlighting directions for future research to advance both theoretical development and practical applications of power fluctuation.关键词
