Analysis of the Global Goat Research and Development Trend from 1992 to 2024

Abstract
In order to comprehensively understand the current status and latest development trends of goat research both domestical-ly and internationally,this study employed bibliometric methods to systematically search and analyze global goat research papers from the Web of Science database and Chinese-related papers from the CNKI database spanning the period from 1992 to 2024.The distribution characteristics of these publications were analyzed across multiple dimensions,including the number of annual publications,country-wise publication distribution,re-search institutions,authors,journals,keyword co-occurrence,and the evolution of research directions.Visual analysis was conducted using Excel 2019,GraphPad Prism v5.01,and VOSviewer,with a focus on dynamic changes across three key time periods:2017-2019(pre-COVID-19 pandemic),2020-2022(during the pandemic),and 2023-2024(post-pandemic).The results show that China has maintained a leading position in global goat research,ranking first in total number of publications and demonstrating significant devel-opment potential.The top 10 scholars in this field are mainly from China and the United States,notably represented by Northwest A&F University(China)and Langston University(USA).The depth and breadth of goat research have ex-panded considerably,accompanied by growing international cooperation and academic exchange.The disciplinary struc-ture of goat research in China has become increasingly a-ligned with global trends and is evolving toward interdiscipli-nary and multidisciplinary integration.However,in emerging research areas,China still needs to increase investment and focus,enhance innovation and practical application,and fur-ther improve academic quality to strengthen its influence in international goat research.The findings of this study pro-vide theoretical support and a decision-making basis for im-proving goat breeding efficiency,promoting agricultural de-velopment,and optimizing industrial layout.关键词
