Abstract

Tarim Basin is an important base for Pliocene sandstone-type uranium prospecting.In recent years,good uranium prospecting clues have been found,but the uranium provenace in the surrounding mountains has not been systematically sorted out,which affects the efficiency and layout of uranium prospecting.Based on the literature statistics,this paper systematically sorts out the material composition characteristics of the uranium source in north margine to Tarim Basin,and emphatically analyzes the U and Th geochemical characteristics of urinous granitoids.Finally,the significance of modern uranium source systems for Pliocene uranium prospecting was discussed.The uranium source to the north margin of Tarim Basin mainly include South Tianshan Mountain,Kuruktag Mountain and Kepingtage,and the rocks of granites include Late Carboniferous-Middle Permian,Middle Silurian-Middle Devonian,Middle Ordovician and Late Neoproterozoic,Middle Neoproterozoic,Paleoproterozoic,NeoArchean-Paleoproterozoic.The average value of U content,Th content,Th/U ratio,migration of uranium ratio(µ)of Granites varied from 0.70×10-6 to 4.46×10-6,5.79×10-6 to 25.64×10-6,5.39 to 8.25 and-51.65%to-31.46%.Based on the study of U,Th geochemistry,it was believed that the granites of Late Carboniferous-Middle Permian,Middle Silurian-Middle Devonian were the main uranium sources and Precambrian granites were the secondary uranium sources.Two major uranium provenance areas,Tomur Peak and Yanqi,and one minor provenance area Kuruktag area were recognized for the uranium mineralzation and two metallogenic prospects,Aksu and Korla were predicted for the uranium metalization in Pliocene.
