Abstract
To address the technical bottleneck of difficult interfacial bonding in explosive welding of ultra-thick copper/steel composite plates,large-scale ultra-thick(13+85)mm copper/steel composite plates were successfully fabricated by precisely controlling material properties of C46200 copper cladding and ASTM A283 GrC steel substrate,explosion parameters,and composite processes.Results show that the composite interface exhibits typical wavy metallurgical bonding with 100%bonding rate(excluding detonator zone).Shear strength(245,261 MPa)exceeds current standard requirements.Bend specimens show no cracks and delamination,confirming excellent interfacial mechanical stability.Post-welding substrate steel strength increased by 30~50 MPa with 3%reduction in elongation.Copper cladding showed less than 40 MPa decrease in tensile and yield strength and less than 7%reduction in elongation due to explosive impact,indicating slight hardening and embrittlement tendency.Interface hardness displays gradient distribution(copper side:74~79 HV,steel side:150~192 HV)without significant hardened zones.This study breaks the traditional 6 mm thickness limit for copper cladding,providing an innovative process for engineering applications of ultra-thick copper/steel composite plates.关键词
