He(Harmony):The Confucian Doctrine of Musical Moral Nurturing
摘要
Abstract
"Being broad in learning and mild in character—that is the edification through music."This Confucian doctrine is the earliest explanation of"edification through music"that people can see.How to implement musical edification?The mechanism becomes clear through Kong Yingda's annotation:"musical edification takes harmony as its essence and is applied to all things",which reveals that the fundamental reason for Teaching in Music lies in"harmony".In fact,the Confucian spirit of musical edification embodies"harmony"in three aspects:the ontology of music is"harmony",the emotion of music is"harmony",and the value of music is"harmony".The ontology of music has two levels:the first is the"harmony"between measurement and temperament,and the second is the"harmony"between temperament and sound.The emotion of music as"harmony"has two levels:first,music takes"harmony"as the source of emotion;second,music harmonizes emotions.The value of music is"harmony",whose first level is to construct the order of"harmony"of identity and second level is to cultivate individuals to reach the highest state of"success in music"through"harmony".关键词
