Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between residual volume of parotid gland and the risk of postoperative complications and aesthetic effect in patients with parotid gland tumor.Methods One hundred patients who underwent parotid tumor resection in the hospital from October 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the research subjects.Six months after surgery,complications such as facial depression,paresthesia of the great auricular nerve,Frey syndrome,facial palsy,and salivous fistula were recorded.Any of the above complications were defined as the occurrence group,and no complications were defined as the non-occurrence group.The clinical data and parotid residual volume of the two groups were compared,and the factors affecting the risk of postoperative complications in patients with parotid tumor were screened by multi-factor Logistic regression model,and the relationship between parotid residual volume and postoperative aesthetic effect was analyzed by Pearson correlation.Results Among the 100 patients,28 had postoperative complications,of which the highest incidence was Frey syndrome(9.00%),followed by great auricular nerve paresthesia(8.00%)and facial depression(7.00%).The surgical method,flap method and free facial nerve were significantly different between the two groups,and the residual volume was smaller than that of the non-developing group(P＜0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed with surgical method,flap method,facial nerve free and residual parotid volume as independent variables.After adjusting for confounding factors,residual parotid volume[OR=0.823,95%CI(0.736～0.920)]was an independent protective factor for postoperative complications(P＜0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the residual volume of parotid gland was positively correlated with the postoperative aesthetic outcome of parotid tumor patients(r=0.655,P＜0.001).Conclusion The residual volume of parotid gland is an independent protective factor for postoperative complications in patients with parotid gland tumor,and the residual volume is positively correlated with the aesthetic effect.关键词
