Meta-analysis of Sugar Beet Root Yield and Sugar Yield in Response to Boron Fertilizer Application and Its Influencing Factors in China

Abstract
[Objective]This study aims to clarify the influence pattern of boron fertilizer application on the root yield and sugar yield of sugar beet in China and its influencing factors,so as to provide a reference for exploring the potential of boron application on the increase of root yield and sugar yield of sugar beet in China.[Methods]Meta-analysis was used to collect field trial data on boron fertilizer application to sugar beet in China published in CNKI and Wanfang databases during 1983-2024,and grouped and analyzed according to the method of boron application,the amount of boron applied,the time of planting and environmental factors.[Results]The results showed that,on the whole,leaf spraying>2 kg/hm2 of borax significantly increased Chinese sugar beet root yield by 18.3%and sugar yield by 23.5%;the best effect was found in the basal application of>15 kg/hm2 of borax,which increased the yield of sugar beet by 8.1%and sugar production by 8.9%;and the effect was even better in the area where the altitude was≤400 m and the annual precipitation was≤500 mm.Soil organic matter,total nitrogen,total phosphorus,available phosphorus,alkaline nitrogen and available boron had a highly significant effect on the yield and sugar increase of boron application.[Conclusion]In conclusion,in the future,sugar beet planting and production in China should take into account the climatic characteristics of different planting areas and soil fertility,to determine the sugar beet boron fertilizer management strategies,in order to enhance the benefits of sugar beet planting,and promote the sustainable and healthy development of China's sugar industry.关键词
