Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of dual-energy computed tomography(DECT),99mTc-methoxy-isobutyl-isonitrile(99mTc-MIBI)dual-phase imaging and ultrasonography(US)examination in the pre-operative diagnosis of patients with parathyroid space-occupying lesions.Methods Consecutive patients with parathyroid space-occupying lesions who underwent parathyroid surgery with definite pathology and had simulta-neous dual-energy DECT,99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging,and US examinations between January 2017 and October 2024 in our hospital were retrospectively collected.The diagnostic efficacy of different imaging exami-nation methods was compared with the gold standard of postoperative pathological results.Results Based on the patients,it was 92.19%of the sensitivity of DECT,80%of the specificity,and 91.30%of the accuracy for space-occupying lesions detection,the area under the ROC curve was 0.861,all of which were not different with 99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging or US(P>0.05).Based on the lesions,it was 92.63%of the sensitivity of DECT for space-occupying lesions detection,66.67%of the specificity,90.38%of the accuracy,and the area under the ROC curve was 0.796,all of which were not different with 99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging or US(P>0.05).The accuracy of DECT combined with 99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging was 96.15%,which was similar as US combined with 99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging(91.35%).Conclusions For the preoperative diagnosis of parathyroid space-occupying lesions,DECT is not only valuable as a qualitative diagnosis,but also can be used for the diagnosis of inconsistent or missed diagnosis results of ultrasound and 99mTc-MIBI dual-phase imaging.关键词
